Well I have done it!! I fumbled my way but have made it through the 1st year as the Youth leader!! I have learned some things along the way, and hopefully the youth have also. I also hope that they have made some good memories. We have some ideas already for this year. On super bowl Sunday after church, we are invited to go bowling with our friends from the Muncie youth groups. On February 23rd we are planning our annual Ski trip, and on March 29 we are going to Winter Jam at bankers Life Fieldhouse. Then of course we are already planning for camp, we are set up to stay in the brand new cabin (that has air conditioning)!
We are asking that the youth show up for class if they are planning to participate in the outings. The ski trip for example, we are asking that you work the Bake Potato lunch and attend at least 6 classes between January 1 and the February 23. The money earned at the potato lunch will pay for the ski trip and any leftover will go towards camp. For class we will have a lesson on Sunday morning, and on Wednesday evening we will (per youth request!!) have Bible study.
Thank you for trusting me with this position, and most importantly with your youth. If anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to let me know.
