Cross Roads UMC Food Pantry
For the month of November 52 families were served which made a total of 215 people. This is a vital ongoing ministry. Currently the hours had to be cut back to 10:00 a.m.-Noon on Monday only.
$542.08 was spent on food from donated funds. In addition there were some who went purchased food in order for the pantry to be stay opened. I do not have the amount spent on these shopping trips. All of the food donations that help to supplement the monetary donations are greatly appreciated. Cindy Buster, Cami Davis and Melinda and Mike Pierce are helping with the distribution of the food and stocking the cabinet with groceries. I greatly appreciate their help because it allows me to help do other things in the office. If everyone would be willing and able to bring in an item or so each Sunday, the pantry will be able to stay open. Also, all cash donations are greatly appreciated. Items that are needed are: canned meats, chicken and dumplings, beef stew, soups, crackers, corn bread mix, canned fruits and vegetables, cereals, pancake mix, syrup, peanut butter, jelly, macaroni and cheese, pasta sauce and spaghetti, canned ravioli, Spaghettios, toilet paper, dish soap, bar soap, liquid hand soap, tooth paste and tooth brushes. Also, there is a small freezer at the church for the pantry, so hotdogs, bologna, sausage links, etc. can be used. Once a week we get bread items donated to us by Klosterman's bakery. Thank you for helping us keep this needed ministry operational. If you have questions, feel free to ask Cindy, Cami, Melinda, Mike or Elsie. |
